About the Score

Inspired by a night time visit to the south rim of the Grand Canyon, this concert piece highlights the majesty of Nature and an understanding of humankind's relative place in the cosmos. With motifs representing the stars, Native people, the Earth and humankind, the singers, pianist and violin soloist paint this musical picture. Commissioned and premiered by the Plano Civic Chorus, Plano, TX directed by Ralph F. Stannard, featuring violinist Ron Neal and Jerry Stephens, piano.
