Psalm 60 & Prece Nocturnae - $2.00 x

About the Score

This piece is comprised of two texts: Psalm 60 (in Old Low Franconian) and Preces Nocturnae (Prayer at Night) written by Alcuin (b. 747). The piece starts with a medieval sounding melody sung by a tenor solo that eventually turns into a round with another tenor solo. The Psalm 60 melody is then juxtaposed with the Alcuin text sung in a chant-like style. The piece gradually expands into three choirs and eventually ends with the tenor solo singing by himself. This is a challenging but accessible piece for the larger choir.
