"Christmas Eve" by Christina Rossetti (1830-1894). Commissioned and premiered by the Southwest Kansas Chorale, Sean Boller, Director, in honor of the group's 50th anniversary. This setting begins in a mysterious, minor key and then erupts into a celebration of the announcement of Christ's birth. Following the celebration, the piece turns to a reverent wedding ceremony, where Earth prepares herself for the arrival of her Bridegroom, Jesus.
