RACHEL DEVORE FOGARTY is an active composer and collaborative pianist. Her works have been performed in the United States and abroad and have spanned choral, solo vocal, and symphonic literature. Her music has been featured on programs in Russia, Croatia, Ireland and London. A reading of her new musical, Unbelievable (co-written with composer/lyricist Kevin Fogarty) was featured as part of the 2017 New Jersey Theater Alliance Stages Festival. Upcoming projects include a commissioned chamber opera of Maupassant’s The Necklace, a new song cycle commissioned by the NYC Center for Faith and Work, and co-writing a new musical, 1000 Faces. Recent recognition includes: the 2014 American Composers Forum Competition award winner in which her music was featured on a national broadcast by American Public Media. Her choral arrangement of “Silver Bells” was featured in the 2016 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performed by Sarah McLachlan and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. As a pianist, Fogarty’s talents take her throughout the United States, performing as a rehearsal pianist with national Broadway tours including the musicals Elf and Anything Goes. She has also played for special guests such as President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Upcoming projects include a published art song collection to be released in October 2017, edited by soprano Sabrina Laney Warren as part of her DMA dissertation project at the University of Memphis. Originally from Tennessee, Fogarty now resides in Long Island City, NY, with her husband, composer Kevin Fogarty.
