Michael Maiorana is a composer from Detroit. After attending Grinnell College in rural Iowa, he studied composition, harmony, and counterpoint in the tradition of Nadia Boulanger in Paris, France. Michael lives in Minneapolis and was recently awarded a 2018 Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board to write music for four ensembles across Minnesota.
