Dr. Hyun Kook, MD, PhD, holds his degrees from Chonnam National University Medical School in Gwangju, South Korea, where he is currently a professor. Though Dr. Kook has no formal music education, he has garnered a strong following in the choral composition world in Korea. His works have been performed at numerous choral festivals and conferences in Korea, Europe, and the United States, and is a regular recipient of commissions from many professional choirs. His musical works – a calatlogue of well over 250 pieces – are carried by Shawnee, Santa Barbara, Lorenz, Walton, SoundForth, Roger Dean, Colla Voce, Heritage, St. James Music Press, and earthsongs.
