Alex Gartner is an active composer, conductor, and clinician based in Pensacola, FL. As Artistic & Executive Director of the Pensacola Children's Chorus, he has grown the program to amass 15 ensembles serving over 300 singers annually. Members of PCC frequently collaborate with Pensacola’s professional arts organizations and spread music throughout the community through innovative means of performance, creativity, and collaboration with service-based nonprofit organizations. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gartner previously served as the Assistant Director of the Cincinnati Youth Choir, ensemble-in-residence at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. A published composer, contributing author, and guest clinician, Gartner and his choirs have performed and presented at esteemed venues across the United States and the world. Gartner earned a Master of Music in Music Education from the University of Florida; and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He is the co-author of the book "The Business of Choir" which focuses on building capacity and support for choral programs. His musical works are published through a number of reputable publishers, especially MusicSpoke.
