An inspiring, expressive piece, Yih’yu l’ratson sets both the Hebrew and English text, “May the words of my mouth… be acceptable to You, my Rock and my Redeemer.” The piece begins with a tender piano introduction. Then, the choir enters earnestly, a cappella, its close harmonies and expressive phrasing evoking emotion and a sense of imploring prayer. Recommended for high school, community ensembles, and synagogue choirs interested in bringing people together through moving, emotional music.
