About the Score

This piece is a mashup of two very popular American Civil War pieces. It opens and closes with soloists from two different perspectives of the war, the ones off fighting the war and the ones at home praying and hoping for their safety. In the recording, and the original premiere of the work, it is approached by two choirs, an SSA Choir and and a TTBB choir. Staging options can bring even more depth to an emotional piece.
