About the Score

Drawing its inspiration from world music, "Veni Sancte Spiritus" takes the form of a rhythmic and urgent plea for justice in this setting for SATB unaccompanied chorus and percussion (djembe preferred). It was first premiered by the Foothills Chorale in Seneca, SC as the opener of their concert "Songs of the Muses: A Celebration of Women Composers" on May 8, 2022.
