About the Score

A short unaccompanied contrapuntal duet for two sopranos, a setting E. E. Cummings poem by the same name. Cummings intercuts two phrases: "bee in the only rose" and "unmoving, are you asleep?" The setting preserves the intercutting with each phrase in different voices. A challenging piece for individuals, could also work beautifully for a select women's choir.
