"Three Poems of William Blake" sets to music three of the legendary poet/artist/philosopher's poems, "A Dream", "Love's Secret", and perhaps his most beloved of all, "The Tyger". Trevor F. Shaw uses thick, flowing harmonic texture to explore the odd, though often beautiful balance in Blake's texts between secular and sacred, as well as his infamously uneasy relationship with the notion of romantic love. Despite the large, extended chords, choral groups of varied abilities and experience levels have found success performing this brief SATB collection since its creation.
