About the Score

My dear friend, Kyle Schwartz, asked me to set three poems that he had written into a song cycle which he could perform at his senior recital at Concordia College. This collection of three short pieces, titled together as "Three Hallucinations of Love", aims to convey the tragedy and absurdity (almost silliness) of young love. Set for bari-tenor and piano, these three pieces will leave you feeling humored, sad, and at some moments even confused. Enjoy!
