About the Score

This poem by Afrose Fatima Ahmed is a depiction of nature coming back to life after a long winter of isolation. The piece is very singable for real-world choirs and enjoyable for advanced ensembles as well, with its positive, forward-looking sound and feel. It was commissioned by the Washington State American Choral Director's Association for their 2021 Summer Institute Commissioning Project.
