About the Score

"Mewinzha. Long ago in the mixing we were shaken....." So begins the evocative poem by Native American poet Margaret Noodin in a song that celebrates our spiritual brother/sisterhood here on Earth. The music is alternately lyrical, dramatic, and aleatoric. This piece was written for a Divisional Conference of ACDA for a mixed choir of Milwaukee public school singers. Written for the Central / North Central Regional Conference of ACDA, March 2020
