About the Score

A setting of a text by Euan Tait for SATB voices, this piece tells the story of the last night that siblings, St. Benedict and St. Scholastica spent together. A storm prevented Benedict from returning to his monastery and the two were able to pray together. St. Scholastica would die three days later. This piece was written as a gift to the sister of Mount St. Scholastica Monastery in Atchison, Kansas in celebration of the 160th Anniversary of their community. It was premiered in November of 2023.
