A 6.5 minute work for mixed chorus, The Bell and the Blackbird explores the interaction of diligent practice and wild exploration in a healthy human life, through the vivid poetry of David Whyte. Lushly tonal, and appropriate for both secular and sacred contexts, the work breaks into an extended Allelujah on the final line.
