About the Score

"Soplad quedito" is a lullaby, the text of which is an adaptation of the one published in the 'Letras de los villancicos que se cantaron en la Santa Iglesia de Córdoba' (Spain) in 1672. The music, written in a very simple form, has the air of a lullaby, sweet and peaceful. It has a tripartite form A-B-A', with an introduction that serves as both a short interlude and a coda. The melody is very tender, and tries to reflect the meaning of the text.
