About the Score

Crafted in collaboration with my friend Scott Leithead, founder and artistic director of Kokopelli Choirs in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada: Songs for Unexpected Spaces is a set of two miniatures for SATB chorus and percussion designed to be performed in some of the bizarre spaces utilized by choirs during the COVID-19 pandemic:

1. Pavement & Steel is a song about a parking garage, to be sung in a parking garage using found sounds in the parking garage as percussion (drumsticks on concrete, pipes, etc.)

2. Pasture & Sky speaks to open spaces, and how uncertain times lead us to most want to be with those we love and was written with an open field in mind as the performance venue.
