Kurt Knecht's Sonata for Flute and Piano. The opening movement is a Rochbergian experiment in uniting disparate musical ideas. The middle movement is a dreamy and beautiful Nocturne. The final movement uses Tabla rhythms over crunchy sonorities. The full score also includes two fugues that were the byproducts of the writing process.
