About the Score

Sleep Sweetly, Tender Heart, In Peace was commissioned by the Litchfield High School Choral Department, Litchfield, Illinois, in honor of Mr. Ernie Thomack (February 23, 1958 ~ February 9, 2024). Ernie was a well-known talented professional musician and vocalist. Ernie was also involved with the music programs of Litchfield Community Unit School District, preparing students for music contests and often serving as accompanist for those events. Ernie played in the pit band for high school plays and productions. He was also a trumpeter, playing “Taps” for several Veteran military funeral honors ceremonies.
