About the Score

Part of an ongoing project of short preludes based on locations that I have lived, visited, or that have been an important aspect in my life. This prelude is designed around a central, slow-moving melody. This melody cycles several times in the work, with the addition of descending independent chromatic voices. These descending lines eventually circle back to the top, reminiscent of spinning barber pole.
