About the Score

The inspiration for "O Adonai" comes from my love for the Major Advent Antiphons, the famous "Antiphons O". These small Gregorian masterpieces are songs of prophecy that express the believer’s yearning for the moment of the Messiah’s arrival in human history. In "O Adonai" the Christ is seen as the Leader of the house of Israel who spoke to Moses from the burning bush. My composition is a contemporary reinterpretation of the Gregorian motifs and intends to create a bridge between the past and the future. Upcoming performances: The Æolian Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Monica Faja, performed the world premiere of my "O Adonai", for treble choir, on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the wonderful San Domenico Church in Palermo (Italy).
