About the Score
Nearer My God to Thee is an arrangement of the famous hymn by Sarah Flower Adams for unaccompanied SSAATTBB choir with option alto solo line. The piece was written as a gift to my friend Richard Larson at the passing of his wife, Jackie. The piece opens with a trio of women’s voices introducing the melody followed by sections of luscious harmonies celebrating the beauty of this classic hymn.
