The fourth movement of Six Eastern European Carols which can be performed as a group or separately. "My Rose Bud, My Green Branch" This Hungarian text is the heartfelt joy of the Mother Mary looking into the eyes of her newborn child, calling him "my rose bud, my green branch." The musical setting is contemplative until Mary's final iteration of "sleep, sleep my babe" which soars with joy. Can be performed alone with organ or organ with strings.
