MARIZÁPALOS | Rafael S Mombiedro | MusicSpoke - $2.00 x

About the Score

Marizápalos is a famous anonymous Spanish song from the 17th century, with a folia air. The text of the song tells of the love affair between María Calderón and the young Pedro Martín. This free arrangement, written for four female voices (S 1, S 2, Ms, A) –in the form of variations connected by brief interludes–, was commissioned by the Soprano Èlia Casanova and her female vocal group 'La Tendresa', who included it in their show 'Plebeyos bailes'. The premiere took place at the prestigious Festival de Música Antigua y Barroca de Peñíscola (Alicante, Spain) on 9 August 2021.
