About the Score

Jean Belmont Ford's 'Manifesto' is a setting of an original text for SATB chorus (divisi), unaccompanied. The text is a plea for more kindness in the world. As the drama unfolds, Ford interpolates a text from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice pleading for mercy. The work is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for advanced choirs. It was commissioned for the 20th anniversary of the Lakeside Singers, Robert Bowker, Artistic Director.
