About the Score

Lost in the Loving Floating Ocean of Thee is a piece for unaccompanied SSAATTBB choir.  This piece was commissioned by Richard Larson and Kantorei of Denver, CO.  A setting of part of Walt Whitman’s “When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom’d” this piece is written as a gift to those mourning the loss of a loved one.  Thick harmonies along with a section of building counterpoint combine to bring peace and comfort to the living. Celebrating the thought that the last moments of their loved one’s time on this planet were peaceful and beautiful.
