About the Score

A mixture of Latin and English psalm texts (102:1; 103:1-2; 51:15; 36:9), Lord, Hear My Prayer was composed for the Hillsboro (KS) High School Concert Choir and director Mrs. Lynn Just. Picturesque and plaintive, it employs tone clusters to depict the idea of murkiness and "calling out of the deep." A central portion is in the style of Anglican church music. The work was premiered in the spring of 2017.
