About the Score

Borrowing text (new translation of Hebrew by Jason Horner based on Psalm 24:9-10) from the Sacred Service for Morning Prayers as set by Ernest Bloch, Part III, Movement 2. This is the second set of text Jason has translated and set for piano and SATB choir from the Sacred Service. This is an accessible, piece that could be a great concert opener or worship service selection. The text is particularly useful for the Advent and Christmas Seasons. Upcoming performances: Performed for the Licnoln Choral Artists' "Home for the Holidays" concert on Sunday, December 10th, 2023 at First Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Nebraska under the direction of the composer and collaborative pianist Dr. Denis Plutalov.
