About the Score

Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence uses the 17th century French folk tune PICARDY. Set for a cappella SATB voicing, this text is appropriate for use during advent, communion, or in concert settings. The text comes from the Liturgy of St. James with a translation by Gerard Moultrie. Originally set for the Elizabethan Syngers, based out of the Minnesota Twin Cities area, this arrangement has been used in churches and for choir festivals across the Midwest and in the Baltics. The score includes a piano reduction for rehearsal purposes. Recording: Robbinsdale Cooper Chamber Singers under the direction of Tyler Forsythe.
