Found on Soweto Gospel Choir’s 2007 CD, Blessed, there are at least two recordings of “Khumbaya” by the group. In concert, SGC sometimes performs the piece with synthesized instrumental accompaniment, but this transcription is of the acapella version, as heard on the CD. Listening to and imitating that recording—and others by the group—is one way to uncover a rewarding and authentic performance.
