About the Score

"How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a foreign land? In terra aliena? (in a strange land?)" These are the final words of the text from Psalm 137 which begins, ""By the streams of Babylon"" and which is a favorite among composers. This expressively melodic work (with minimalist leanings) was commissioned by the Central Bucks High School Choir and tries to capture the anguish of a people in exile, as the Jewish people were in Babylon.
