About the Score

A setting of Mechthild of Magdeburg's, 'I Cannot Dance' newly translated by the composer. The piece was written for the Allegro Choirs of Kansas City to be premiered at the opening concert of the 2019 National ACDA Convention. The piece combines an exciting organ part with dramatic vocal parts. The dramatic opening eventually turns into a dance between the voices and the accompaniment.
