About the Score

Gratitude Sutra honors the gifts of the natural world as expressed in a poem of Gary Snyder. Over 13 minutes, the music travels through the worlds of plants, rivers, oceans, animals and humanity, and enthusiastically shares gratitude for the earth, the sun, and the vast reaches of space. Commissioned by the Barlow Foundation for the BBC Singers, the Latvian Radio Chorus, and Volti, the work was recorded by Volti for their album "The Color of There from Here".
