About the Score

This piece was written in response to a dear friend moving away. While we grieved the upcoming separation, he seemed far more sure-footed, and when we asked him why he was not upset with the rest of us, he wrote this beautiful text in response. "For I Am Held" captures the distinct comfort that comes from knowing you are loved, no matter the distance. It's lush harmonies and dance-like rhythms evoke the joy that comes from accepting and returning love.
