About the Score

Richard III, Book of Hours, Litany of Saints, An SATB setting (with a few bars of sop divisi) plus organ, of easy to moderate difficulty. A piano could be used instead of organ. On one occasion, a string quartet has been used.

The text is from the 'Litany of Saints' and is suitable for use in various liturgical contexts such as evensong. It is the prayer King Richard III requested to be used in his memory. First performed at St Katherine Cree in the City of London, by the Fisher Consort as part of the Brandenburg Choral Festival, Sept 2017. It was also sung during the Gloucester Music Festival 2018 in Gloucester Cathedral and during evensong at Wells Cathedral.

'O God, whose nature and property is ever to have mercy and to forgive: receive our humble petitions; and though we be tied and bound by the chain of our sins, yet let the pitifulness of thy great mercy loose us.'
