About the Score

Dancing Flames, for saxophone quartet, evokes the vigour and curiosity of fire. The piece’s interweaving melodic lines and rhythmic energy playfully characterize fire in its many forms: from glowing embers to raging flames.

This work was commissioned by the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts and premiered by Azura Quartet on March 28, 2017 in Vancouver, Canada.
