About the Score

Sara Teasdale's poem entitled "The Old Maid" was first published in the collection "Rivers to the Sea" (1915). The composer created a new title for the setting of this text for SSAA a cappella voices. "An Affirmation of Love" was dedicated to and premiered by Dr. Rebecca R. Reames and the Crane School of Music Phoenix Club, Potsdam, NY in the Spring of 2009.
