About the Score

“Alive” is the first movement of four in the large work One Art. It is focused on the power of music and its ability to bring people together. Personally speaking, I have had many profound experiences participating in choirs, and while music is the main vehicle to all that we do, the most priceless moments have been the result of singing and connecting to others in the choir. It is the combination of performing, bonding, and a deep sense of belonging that makes music so powerful. It is a fuel to my life and a nourishment that fills my soul and heart.
