About the Score

This work is based on a traditional song that was compiled at the beginning of the XX century in Adrianopolis, which is now part of Turkey. It portraits the celebration of Hanukkah and it portraits the festive nature and the joy of the ocassion. You almost feel in a home, preparing for the holiday and then enjoying the gathering by playing, eating and spending the time with family and friends. Premiered December 2018 by the San Fernando Valley Master Chorale
