Edgard Moya Godoy is an Argentine composer recognised for integrating Latin American musical traditions—particularly Baguala and Tango—into contemporary choral, chamber, and symphonic composition. His music is renowned for its rich textures, rhythmic complexity, and innovative vocal writing. Based in Copenhagen, he studied composition at the National University of Córdoba (Argentina) and the Royal Danish Academy of Music, with Bent Sørensen. His approach merges folk elements with contemporary classical techniques, emphasising gestural structures and timbral exploration. His music explores memory, identity, and the voice as a resonant, cultural instrument. Moya Godoy’s choral work has earned acclaim for its synthesis of tradition and modernity. His compositions have been commissioned and performed by leading ensembles including DR Vokalensemblet, Vokal Nord, Fermata Choir, Chamber Choir of Córdoba and Choral Arts Initiative among others.
