Connor Koppin is a choral/orchestral composer who is currently pursuing a degree in Music Education at Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. He has extensively studied both composition and orchestration with Geoff Wilson, musicologist and lecturer at Wartburg. Koppin’s choral music is full of rich beautiful harmonies and is reminiscent of the works of today’s most successful choral composers. Along side of composing he is also a frequent conductor of choral music. He was recently received a commission from The Wartburg Choir under the direction of Dr. Lee Nelson. "There is No Rose of Such Virtue" was performed for the 2012 Christmas With Wartburg concert series. The piece was warmly received by all audiences. Koppin has now been comissioned to write a piece for the 2013 Wartburg College Meistersinger Honor Choir Festival. Koppin's setting of "i carry your heart" by e.e. cummings will be performed by 300-400 high school students in the festival chorus. He works as the choir director for Zion Lutheran Church in Waterloo, IA. After obtaining his bachelor's degree, Koppin plans to teach high school chorus in Iowa and pursue graduate school.
